Essential Functions:Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Job Summary:Reporting to the Liquid Operations Manager or designee, this position is directly responsible for overseeing essential rail duties & functions in a safety sensitive and production environment. The Terminal Rail Supervisor will ensure property and equipment preservation at each location including grounds keeping is being performed.This position will handle numerous projects and must ensure projects are delivered on time, meeting company requirements and goals. Must be able to lead or assist in the planning, implementation and introduction of projects and purchases. This role significantly impacts operational groups and departments. During the course of business, the Terminal Rail Supervisor is not to share any confidential information with anyone other than their direct manager or Executives of Plastic Express.The Terminal Rail Supervisor must be able to work in high-stress environments and be self-motivated to perform all job tasks as outlined below.Essential Functions/Duties:Implement and execute policies and procedures, to facilitate a superior customer service experienceIdentify and recommend or acquire updates and expansions to technology, equipment, and policies that may improve employee retentionInventory data audits for Railcar In-transit, Current & ReleasedWork with the Liquid Operations Manager to establish performance metrics for Terminal Rail TechsAssist with Infinitime accuracy and enforcing state policy by employee for lunch/breaksKeep accurate records of daily spreadsheets as assigned — Site SpecificWork with the Liquid Operations Manager to implement training and quality assurance programs for new hires and experienced employeesEnsure on-time EOM billing is submitted for assigned terminals — Site SpecificAct as a liaison between the Customer Service, Rail Operations, Bulk Terminals and WarehousesWork with Terminal Rail Techs daily to make sure all Railcars are being received/release properly using Tablets; troubleshoot any issues that ariseEnsure immediate material loss clean up and proper disposalEnsure all personnel are equipped with company issued PPE at all timesProper use of company issued electronic devices ie; laptops, radios, tablets, printers, cell phone, etc.Perform other related duties as assignedCheck-in transload truck(s) & scale as neededPerform top-loading (railcar) transload operations at heights while operating an articulating boom liftOperate rail-moving equipment to perform rail switching activitiesFollow rail switching procedures as it relates to an active rail yard (blue flag protocol, derails and Class 1 Railroad communication)Qualifications:Required Education and ExperienceAt least 21 years oldHigh school diploma or equivalent5 years of experience in a customer service-related field (in the transportation industry preferred)Knowledge of bulk commodities industry rates and terms a plusType 40wpm with 100% accuracyRailroad experience is a plusPhysical Demands:Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computerMust have close visual confirmation of finely printed documents and distance vision to safely and correctly identify objects and or markingsMust be able to lift up to 15 pounds at timesSkills:Proven interpersonal skills; relationship development and managementAbility to work independently and as part of teamAbility to recognize onsite risk factors and take appropriate action with firmness and tactAbility to effectively communicate intentions and be an active listenerAbility to monitor/assess performance of yourself and those you superviseAbility to think critically - use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problemsInstructing/Coaching - teaching others how to do somethingAbility to multitask, prioritize and work under high-stress environmentsAbility to manage one's own time and the time of othersPossess a high level of proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook and database managementMust read, write, and speak English fluentlyMust have moderate to high level computer skillsStrong attention to detail is requiredWork Environment:This job operates in a professional office environment, with 75% outdoor duties in a rail yard environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and printers/scanners.
