Extrusion Tooling Technician – Day Shift (very rare Saturdays and no Sundays).
Location: South of Cleveland, OH
Pay: $30–$40/hr. Full Benefits, Overtime Available, Stable & Growing Company
We’re not just looking for a technician, we are looking for a subject matter expert. Our client is one of the fastest-growing, highest-quality profile extrusion companies in the Midwest—and they’re ready to bring on a true extrusion tooling rockstar to own the tooling side of the operation.
What You’ll do:
- Tear down, inspect, polish, and rebuild extrusion dies —then watch your work produce perfect parts on the very next run.
- Design and machine new dies, calibrators, and fixtures using AutoCAD and Mastercam—your ideas go straight from screen to production.
- Set up complete tooling packages faster and more accurately than anyone else on the floor (and yes, people will notice).
- Work hand-in-hand with Engineering and Production leadership to solve problems, cut changeover times, and push quality to the next level.
- Run manual mills, lathes, die grinders, surface grinders—whatever it takes to make it perfect.
- Be the go-to expert on everything from TPV and TPU to rigid PVC and HDPE profiles.
This role is perfect for you if:
- You have 3 years of real plastics extrusion tooling experience (profile extrusion = huge advantage).
- You can look at a die and instantly spot what’s causing that flash or sink mark.
- You’re comfortable designing in AutoCAD/Mastercam and running manual/CNC equipment.
- You’ve got welding, fabrication, and precision measuring (micrometers, calipers, GD&T) locked down.
- You actually enjoy being on the plant floor, covered in polishing compound, making things better.
