Position: Maintenance Technician

Reports To: Maintenance Supervisor
*Compensation is negotiable and will be based on skills and experience.
First Shift: 6:00 am - 2:30 pm Monday-Friday, with opportunity for overtime.
Position Summary:
Perform work involving the skills necessary to keep machines, mechanical equipment, and building structures in proper repair. Duties may include pipe fitting, insulating, welding, machining, carpentry, repairing electrical/mechanical equipment, installing, aligning, and balancing new equipment, as well as maintaining and repairing building structures, floors, or stairs.
Specific Duties:
- Ensure that maintenance schedules are followed as outlined for assigned areas.
- Follow established fire safety and company safety policies and procedures.
- Maintain facilities in good repair, ensuring a safe, clean, and orderly environment.
- Keep accurate inventory records of all parts, tools, and maintenance supplies.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance following checklists to ensure machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, and physical conditions of facilities do not deteriorate.
- Diagnose and repair any mechanical problems or defective equipment/machinery in the facility.
- Be prepared to perform scheduled and unplanned maintenance as required.
Recommended Education:
High school diploma or GED
Physical Requirements:
To successfully perform the essential functions of this position, the employee must be able to:
- Stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
- Frequently climb ladders, stairs, platforms, and equipment as needed.
- Regularly bend, twist, squat, kneel, stoop, reach, and work in awkward positions while performing maintenance tasks.
- Lift, carry, push, and pull 40 pounds or more on a frequent and consistent basis.
- Use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Perform repetitive movements involving the hands, arms, and shoulders.
- Work in varying temperatures, including hot manufacturing environments, and around moving machinery while following all safety procedures.
- Occasionally work at elevated heights and in confined spaces when required.
- Possess sufficient vision, hearing, and manual dexterity to safely inspect, troubleshoot, and repair equipment.
- Be able to respond quickly to equipment failures and emergency maintenance situations.
