What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tooling Engineer position at Plastech Corporation?
The Tooling Engineer drives new injection mold tooling from estimating to completion & supports existing production tooling needs. This individual will be responsible for tools built internally and externally, perform DFM activities, overseeing tool design acceptance, maintaining schedules and budgets, & problem solving through the life of the tool. In this position, you will quote new tooling and revisions, approve mold designs, and source new molds through approved suppliers (domestically and internationally) to meet internal and external customer requirements. The Tooling Engineer also follows up on tooling to ensure compliance with standards in design, tool construction, and construction timelines. You will also communicate progress and/or changes on tooling to project engineers and update the company mold standards manual as necessary.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or equivalent engineering/tooling experience.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience with plastic injection mold tool design and manufacturing.
- Minimum experience of 3 to 5 years’ experience in CAD software (Creo/Pro-E and SolidWorks are preferred.
- Experience with mold flow simulation software is desired but not required.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written). Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Schedule & Compensation:
Plastech Corporation pays on a weekly basis. This position is 1st Shift, Monday thru Friday.
Starting wage is $80,000 to $90,000 per year, DOQ.
