PlasTech is launching a new 2nd/weekend shift, and we need the right person to build and lead it. This is a hands-on, working supervisor role. You’ll spend most of your time at the machines setting up, proving out jobs and troubleshooting, while making sure your crew has what it needs to run quality parts on time.
We’re looking for a skilled, experienced machinist who knows CNC milling inside and out, is solid on lathes, and can program in Mastercam. You’re the person others come to when a job isn’t running right. You take ownership, set the standard on your shift, and help develop the machinists around you.
PlasTech values creative, practical problem-solvers who take pride in their work. We value accountability, integrity, mutual respect and collaboration.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the 2nd/weekend shift: assign work, keep jobs moving and hit schedule and delivery commitments
- Perform complex setups on CNC mills (3–5 axis) and lathes, including tooling, fixturing and workholding
- Program, edit and prove out jobs using Mastercam and at the control
- Troubleshoot machining, quality and process issues and keep machines running
- Perform first-piece inspections and in-process checks so parts meet customer specifications
- Verify paperwork, print revision, material, program and setup sheets before running
- Train and mentor machinists and operators on the shift
- Enforce safety, housekeeping and quality standards
- Communicate clearly with first shift and the General Manager on job status, issues and handoffs
- Identify and implement improvements to cycle times, setups and processes
What we’re looking for:
- 8 years of CNC machining experience with strong setup skills
- Expert-level CNC milling experience (required); 3–5 axis strongly preferred
- CNC lathe experience; live tooling a plus
- Proficiency with Mastercam
- Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and GD&T
- Proven troubleshooting ability at the machine
- Experience leading, training or mentoring other machinists
- Self-directed and reliable, able to run a shift without day-to-day oversight
- Must be a U.S. person (U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident) because of ITAR requirements
Bonus skills (not required):
- Experience machining plastics
- Prior lead or supervisor experience
- Job shop / high-mix, low-volume experience
- Fixture design
Why PlasTech:
- Clean, well-organized, climate-controlled shop
- High-speed 3–5 axis mills, live tool lathes and automation
- A growing company that’s still small enough for your ideas to matter
- The chance to build a shift from the ground up and grow with it
Benefits:
- Simple IRA retirement plan with company matching
- Medical, dental and vision insurance
- Life, AD&D, short- and long-term disability insurance
- Annual bonus potential
- Participation in the Long-Term Incentive Plan (company ownership program)
- Paid vacation time off
- Paid time off for eight holidays per year
Education: High school or equivalent
Experience: CNC machining: 8 years
Job Type: Full-time
Work Location: One location in Bow, NH 03304. Must reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting.
