What are the responsibilities and job description for the Floral Assistant position at Planterra Events?
Do you like flowers? Are you interested in being a part of someone’s special celebration? We are currently seeking a part-time floral production assistant to join our team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for assisting the Floral department with placing floral arrangements, candles and cleaning floral display containers.
This is a perfect role for someone who is in college or already employed, or looking to work two to three days a week. Weekend availability on Sundays is required; weekday flexibility is preferred. You can expect to work a 5 to 8-hour shift starting at $18 an hour.
WEEKEND SHIFT: Sun days, 8 AM to 4 PM
WEEKDAYS: Mon & Thur – Friday, 8 AM to 4 PM
Responsibilities of Floral Production I:
- Clean floral display items like vases, candelabras, etc. and ensure they are ready for production.
- Setup and/or take down of floral centerpieces, candles, napkins, and other small details.
- Assist with preparation for fresh floral arrangements; making wiring, reflexing flowers, etc.
- Provide excellent customer service assistance to fellow team members and clients.
- Perform other duties as requested.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Ability to multi-task, and act with urgency when necessary.
- Excellent listening skills and a team player.
- Full physical mobility for the entire duration of the shift such as walking, use of carts, bending, lifting, pushing and pulling.
- Ability to safely grip, lift and carry goods weighing up 40 lbs.
- Ability to work weekends.
- Ability to work in hot and humid conditions that may happen in a greenhouse space.
- Ability to be prompt to work and consistently reliable for their scheduled shifts.
- No previous floral experience required.
