Job Title: Equipment and Reliability Coordinator
Reports to: Manufacturing Manager
Job Summary:
The Equipment and Reliability Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation, maintenance, and reliability of all production equipment. This role involves developing and coordinating preventative maintenance programs, troubleshooting equipment issues, and driving reliability improvements to minimize downtime and optimize productivity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Equipment Maintenance & Reliability: Oversee routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs for production equipment. Coordinate with the production team to ensure that machinery operates reliably and meets safety and quality standards.
- Maintenance Scheduling: Develop, schedule, and manage preventative maintenance programs to maximize equipment uptime and lifespan. Coordinate with manufacturing teams to minimize disruptions during maintenance activities.
- Troubleshooting & Repairs: Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns, diagnose issues, and perform or coordinate repairs. Collaborate with equipment vendors and external contractors as needed for specialized repairs.
- Reliability Improvement: Track equipment downtime, failure modes, and repair history to identify recurring issues. Recommend and implement improvements in maintenance procedures, spare parts strategy, and equipment reliability to increase operational efficiency and reduce maintenance costs.
- Documentation & Compliance: Maintain accurate equipment maintenance records, including inspection reports, service logs, and work orders. Ensure compliance with GMP, OSHA, and other regulatory standards.
- Spare Parts Inventory: Monitor inventory levels of spare parts, tools, and maintenance supplies for production equipment. Coordinate reordering to ensure critical parts are available when needed.
- Safety & Training: Promote a culture of safety by following and enforcing safety protocols. Provide training on equipment safety and maintenance best practices to operators and manufacturing staff.
- Support Team Activities: Assist team members with tasks as needed and work collaboratively to meet production goals. Assist with any other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or associate's degree in a related field preferred.
- 2-3 years of experience in equipment maintenance or reliability, ideally within the food, supplement, or related manufacturing industries.
Skills:
- Strong mechanical and technical skills with a solid understanding of production equipment.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues quickly and efficiently.
- Familiarity with preventative maintenance concepts and reliability best practices.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
- Proficient in maintenance management software and MS Office for record-keeping and scheduling.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces.
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with machinery, moderate noise, and temperature variations.
