Corporate Lead Garden Center Merchandiser
Are you an independent, hard-working, detail orientated, plant-loving enthusiast capable of leading a garden center team? If this describes you, Plant Partners wants you to join our diverse team! We are hiring a Corporate Lead Garden Center Merchandiser to work in a Mooresville, NC Lawn and Garden Department.
Enjoy your days outside moving and unloading vendor carts, consolidating, and organizing plants into attractive displays and helping to execute special projects and resets. The Lead Merchandiser will lead a team of merchandisers at the store, offering daily supervision, direction, and guidance to up to 15 merchandisers; may assist with recruiting and interviewing; and must have effective interpersonal and communication skills which apply to all levels of the organization.
Our operating hours are between 6 am to 8 pm, including weekends. This position is 5 days/week including rotating weekends during Spring, Fall and Holiday seasons, and while hours can fluctuate the Lead Merchandiser is expected to work 30-40 hours per week and year-round. This position reports to the local District Manager who is responsible for hiring the merchandising teams for their stores.
Basic Qualifications:
· Experience supervising, leading a team
· Reliable, motivated, and willing to learn
· Ability to safely work in a fast-paced environment with limited supervision
· Merchandising experience and plant knowledge is a plus, but a great attitude is more important
· Must be at least 18 years old and pass post job offer background check
Physical Requirements:
· Able to work in a fast-paced physically demanding environment
· Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. repeatedly throughout shift
· Ability to walk, bend, stoop, reach and stand for 4 hours a day
· Pushing, pulling, and rolling heavy shipping carts
· Must be able to climb ladders/portable stairways
· Must be able to work in all weather conditions around soil, plants, and possible allergens
