CNC Milling Machinist

Key Responsibilities

• Study work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, and interpret geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).
• Operate computer-controlled lathe and/or milling machinery, including set-up and program editing, to produce advanced routine/non-routine parts and components.
• Perform machining operations on various CNC milling machines, including multiple setups, in-place machining of fixtures, and debugging first-run programs.
• Select, align, and secure holding fixtures and cutting tools using hand tools and tool length off-set equipment.
• Conduct work-piece in-process inspection by checking accuracy against blueprints/specifications using advanced gaging techniques for product conformity.
• Collaborate with machinists, planners, programmers, and engineers to evaluate needs, troubleshoot problems, and recommend solutions.
• Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED.
• 5-7 years of machining experience in a manufacturing production environment.
• Advanced knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures involving CNC machines, including editing computer-aided software and their applications.
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement techniques.
• High-level proficiency in reading and interpreting machining and fabrication drawings.
• Solid math, geometry, and trigonometry skills, and understanding of GD&T.
• Strong attention to detail, ability to communicate effectively, and work in a team environment.
