We are now hiring for a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide direct care to those with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Essential Responsibilities/Job Duties:

This role is in the disability services field, providing support to individuals who need assistance with daily living due to an intellectual, developmental, or cognitive disability.

• This position is working in a home with 1 adult male
• Performing personal care tasks, including assistance with basic personal hygiene and grooming, feeding, and ambulation, medical monitoring, and health care related tasks
• Ensuring client safety and maintaining a safe environment
• Assisting with toileting
• Reminding/assisting client with self-administration of medications (with proper training)
• Encouraging self-help activities and fostering positive relationships
• Documenting services provided
• Performing home management functions such as light housekeeping, laundry, bed making, and cleaning
• Planning meals, preparing and serving food/meals, and clean-up
• Accompanying client to scheduled appointments, as needed
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• High school degree/GED required
• 1 or more years working in the IDD / DSP field
• 18 years of age or older
• Ability to communicate (verbally and written) with all levels of personnel
• Ability to handle physical aspects of job, including bending, stooping, lifting, pushing, pulling, reaching, and walking for periods of time
• Must maintain state regulatory certifications & training, as required by state/program requirements
• Medication Administration as required by state/program requirements
• Criminal history and background check

License/Certification:

· CPR & First Aid

Valid Drivers License & Auto Insurance

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $16.00 per hour
