Land Surveying CAD Technician
Location: Fort Walton Beach, FL (On-site)
PEC is seeking an experienced Land Surveying CAD Technician / Designer to join our growing Gulf Coast team. In this role, you'll support a busy professional land surveying operation performing projects throughout Florida and Alabama.
The ideal candidate will have strong working knowledge of Carlson Survey and AutoCAD Civil 3D, along with a solid understanding of land surveying principles and survey data processing. This position is well suited for someone who understands the relationship between field data, survey calculations, record information, and final survey deliverables—not simply an AutoCAD operator.
Working alongside professional surveyors and experienced field crews, you'll help prepare accurate, high-quality survey documents and deliverables while supporting projects from field data collection through final CAD production.
Qualifications
- 4 years of land surveying CAD experience preferred.
- Strong proficiency with Carlson Survey and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Experience processing actual survey field data.
- Ability to read and understand deeds, plats, easements, and legal descriptions.
- Understanding of bearings, distances, curves, closures, and coordinate geometry.
- Experience preparing professional land surveying deliverables with limited supervision.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to recognize problems or inconsistencies in field data and record information.
- Ability to work effectively with professional surveyors, field crews, and other project team members.
- Must be able to work on-site in Fort Walton Beach, Florida.
