Planned Parenthood of Florida is seeking a passionate and strategic Director of Organizing to join our Public Affairs team. This remote position can be based anywhere in Florida, with preferred locations in Orlando, Tampa, or Miami. This role will lead the development and execution of statewide organizing strategies that build grassroots power and advance reproductive freedom across Florida. Snapshot of key accountabilities of the Director of Organizing:

  • Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive statewide organizing strategy that builds grassroots power and advances Planned Parenthood of Florida’s mission and public affairs priorities.
  • Oversee organizing campaigns and field operations, including volunteer recruitment, leadership development, canvassing, phone banking, text outreach, advocacy events, and community engagement activities.
  • Supervise and support organizing staff, including regional organizers, by providing coaching, mentorship, accountability, and professional development in a remote work environment.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with coalition partners, community leaders, volunteers, and stakeholders across the state.
  • Oversee statewide organizing programs, including advocacy initiatives, volunteer and intern programs, student organizing efforts, and leadership development opportunities.
  • Collaborate closely with communications, policy, digital, and development teams to ensure organizing strategies align with broader organizational priorities and campaigns.
  • Utilize organizing data tools such as VAN and EveryAction to track engagement, measure outcomes, and inform organizing strategy and decision making.
  • Support voter engagement initiatives and campaign related organizing efforts throughout Florida.
  • Manage organizing program budgets, timelines, goals, and reporting requirements to ensure operational excellence and program effectiveness.
  • Represent Planned Parenthood of Florida in statewide organizing efforts, coalitions, public forums, and advocacy events.

Experience/Education of the Director of Organizing:

  • Bachelor’s degree in public policy, political science, nonprofit management, or a related field preferred; equivalent professional experience may be considered.
  • Minimum of 5–7 years of experience in community, labor, or issue based organizing, advocacy, voter engagement, campaign organizing, or related public affairs work.
  • Minimum of 2–3 years of experience managing staff, leading teams, and overseeing organizing programs or campaigns, including remote team management experience strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and executing organizing campaigns, including volunteer recruitment, leadership development, and community engagement strategies.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, coach, and manage staff across multiple regions throughout the state.
  • Experience building and maintaining relationships with coalition partners, community leaders, and stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in fast paced, high pressure environments.
  • Proficiency with organizing data tools such as VAN, EveryAction, or similar platforms.
  • Must have a strong understanding of and personal commitment to reproductive rights and the goals and responsibilities of Planned Parenthood.
  • Ability to travel statewide and work evenings and weekends as needed.

Benefits and Compensation:

  • Starting salary for Director of Organizing: $85,000 annually, commensurate with experience and local market conditions.
  • This is a remote position based in Florida, with preferred locations in Orlando, Tampa, or Miami.
  • Eligible for all applicable benefits effective the first of the month following 30 days from your hire date.
