When you join PPGNY as a Sonographer you will responsible for performing abdominal and vaginal ultra-sound scans on all referred patients to estimate gestational age.
\n- Perform intra-procedural sonography at medical providers’ request, as needed for services provided by PPGNY.
- Provide follow-up sonograms, as needed and prepares and signs ultra-sound reports with accompany photograph for medical records. In additional to providing exception patient-centered care while performing sonograms, the sonographers work as part of a larger sonography team.
- A demonstrated commitment to PPGNY’s mission related to bodily autonomy, health equity, and gender and racial justice
- High school diploma/GED
- Certification as a sonography technician in New York State.
- Patient care experience, preferably in sexual and reproductive health
- A demonstrated commitment to learning about and enhancing practices related to racial equity and its impact on healthcare systems.
- Experience with electronic health record implementation
- Strong relationship building and communication skills, including an ability to work and build trust across cultural differences related to related to race, class, age, gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, religion, ethnicity, national origin or ability; and to reflect on one’s personal identity with humility
- Previous experience in a high-volume customer service role

All positions at PPGNY require:
Proof of immunization or immunity to certain communicable diseases (including influenza during the flu season) and testing for tuberculosis. These certifications are required by the NYC DOHMH Health Code, NYSDOH and OSHA.
