Warehouse Associate – Pallet Manufacturing Facility
Position Summary
Join our fast-paced pallet manufacturing and recycling operation as a Warehouse Associate, where you will play a critical role in supporting production, inventory flow, and material handling. This position is essential to ensuring the efficient movement, sorting, and processing of wood materials—including pallets and skids—throughout the facility.
In this hands-on role, you will operate equipment, manage inventory, and contribute directly to production workflows. Success in this position requires a strong work ethic, attention to safety, and the ability to thrive in a physically demanding, team-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Material Handling & Processing
- Unload, sort, and categorize incoming wood materials, including pallets, skids, and scrap lumber
- Inspect materials for quality, usability, and recycling or repair requirements
- Stage materials for production, repair, or shipment
- Equipment Operation
- Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment
- Load and unload trucks efficiently while minimizing product damage
- Perform routine equipment checks and report maintenance needs
- Production Support
- Assist in pallet repair, assembly, and dismantling processes as needed
- Supply production lines with necessary materials to meet daily output targets
- Remove waste and maintain workflow efficiency across the yard and warehouse
- Inventory & Warehouse Operations
- Track inventory using warehouse management systems (WMS), RF scanners, or manual logs
- Conduct cycle counts and assist with inventory reconciliation
- Ensure accurate documentation of incoming and outgoing shipments
- Shipping & Receiving
- Prepare pallets and materials for shipment according to customer specifications
- Verify quantities and conditions of incoming/outgoing loads
- Maintain organization of staging, loading, and storage areas
- Safety & Facility Maintenance
- Follow all OSHA and company safety guidelines related to equipment, lifting, and materials handling
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment
- Participate in safety meetings and continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Previous experience in warehouse, manufacturing, or pallet/wood processing environments preferred
- Forklift certification or ability to become certified (required)
- Familiarity with inventory systems (WMS), RF scanners, or basic data entry
- Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with tools and equipment
- Ability to lift 50 pounds consistently and perform physically demanding work
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety standards
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team setting
- Reliable attendance and willingness to work in varying weather conditions (if yard-based)
Work Environment & Schedule
- Fast-paced warehouse and outdoor yard environment
- Exposure to dust, noise, and varying temperatures
- Standard schedule: Monday–Friday (with potential overtime based on production needs)
