The Senior Accountant plays a critical role in supporting Planned Packaging’s financial health and operational efficiency by delivering accurate, timely, and insight-driven financial and inventory management. This role partners closely with operations and leadership to ensure financial integrity across manufacturing and distribution entities, while also driving continuous improvement in inventory processes, reporting, and controls. The Senior Accountant serves as a key analytical partner, providing visibility into financial performance and inventory trends to support informed decision-making and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Revenue Cycle Leadership: Oversee the order-to-cash process, ensuring accurate invoicing, disciplined collections, and strong cash flow management. Identify trends and recommend improvements to optimize working capital.
Inventory Strategy & Oversight: Own the integrity of inventory data and processes, including item setup, costing structures, and system accuracy. Monitor inventory levels, support demand planning and purchasing decisions, and lead periodic inventory reconciliations. Analyze variances and implement process improvements to strengthen inventory controls and reduce discrepancies.
Financial Close & Reporting: Lead and enhance aspects of the month-end close process, including preparation and review of journal entries and reconciliations, with a focus on inventory and cost of goods sold. Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting and support management with actionable insights.
Cross-Functional Partnership: Collaborate with operations, procurement, and leadership teams to align financial and inventory practices, improve workflows, and support scalable growth across entities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Strong experience with NetSuite, including inventory, demand planning, and multi-entity environments.
- Proven experience in a distribution or manufacturing environment with a solid understanding of inventory controls and workflows.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze data, identify process improvements, and implement effective solutions.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis.
- Strong communication and business partnering skills.
Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
