A venture-backed technology company building a mission-critical platform used by enterprise customers is hiring a Junior QA Engineer to focus on Level 3 support—investigating complex issues, reproducing bugs, and working directly with engineers to resolve problems deep in the system.
This is not a manual QA, test-case-only role.
You’ll be the bridge between support, QA, and engineering, helping diagnose real production issues and improve system quality at its core.
- Investigate and resolve complex, technical issues escalated from support (Level 3)
- Reproduce bugs, isolate root causes, and clearly document findings
- Partner closely with engineers to debug and validate fixes
- Work across a multi-module platform (Ruby on Rails React)
- Identify patterns in issues and proactively suggest improvements
- Contribute to QA processes, test coverage, and system reliability
- Jump into Slack huddles and collaborate in real-time with the team
- 1–3 years experience in QA, support engineering, or similar technical role
- Strong problem-solving mindset and curiosity
- Comfortable digging into issues others couldn’t solve
- Able to clearly explain technical problems and findings
- Familiarity with:
- Web applications (frontend backend basics)
- APIs, logs, and debugging workflows
- Exposure to JavaScript frameworks (React) and/or backend systems (Rails or similar) is a plus
- Comfortable learning new tools quickly
- Persistent and detail-oriented, you don’t stop at surface-level answers
- You enjoy figuring things out, not just executing test scripts
- Strong communicator, especially in a remote, fast-moving team
- Comfortable being on camera and actively engaging with teammates
- Highly collaborative, camera-on, engaged remote team
- Heavy use of Slack, huddles, and real-time problem solving
- No silos, QA works closely with engineering and product
