What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sr R/D Engineer position at Planet Pharma?
This role will support product design and development activities for the company portfolio, with a primary focus on a Closed Loop Control initiative aimed at improving product manufacturability.
The engineer will work in a cross-functional environment, partnering closely with R&D, Manufacturing Engineering, and Quality to ensure designs are optimized for production readiness.
Day-to-day Responsibilities Include

Required Knowledge And Experience
Requires advanced knowledge of job area combining breadth and depth, typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience. May have practical knowledge of project management. Requires a University Degree and minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience.
Pay Range: 40-50/hr depending on experience

- Supporting design development and refinement through CAD modeling, drawing updates, and interpretation of engineering specifications
- Support CNC grinding setup and troubleshooting
- Applying GD&T and tolerance stack-up analysis to ensure critical dimensions meet functional and manufacturing requirements
- Performing Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) to proactively identify and mitigate product and process risks
- Collaborating with manufacturing teams to transition new designs into production or update current design based on production feedback, troubleshoot issues, and improve yield and reliability
- Participating in design reviews, technical discussions, and root cause investigations to drive continuous improvement
- Documenting technical analyses and supporting deliverables required for design control and product development processes
