Sr. Scientist (Molecular) needed!
Position Details:
Need someone with 5 years of applied molecular (including NGS) assay development experience in a CAP/CLIA clinical environment. Someone who’s been involved with the end-to-end process, not just conceptualization or validation.
Position Summary:
As a Senior Scientist you will work under minimal supervision and consistently and accurately performs duties associated with assay development and validation of Molecular Assay Development. You may also serve as the Project Manager for assigned clinical research activities of R&D initiatives, supervise project deliverables, manage the sample and data collection process, data monitoring, and all associated project manager tasks.
Responsibilities:
- Consistently and independently performs the more complex level of procedures for assay development
- Performs the literature review of new project developments
- Leads project design and feasibility studies
- Manages and directs laboratory technologists and associates in performing research experiments
- Analyzes and presents data to management team
- Writes validation reports of new tests and conducts the technical transfer to the Clinical Operations staff
- Must be familiar with CAP/CLIA requirements and knowledgeable with the specialty requirements within those organizations
Experience, Education and Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in a life or physical science or M.D. preferred; B.S or M.S. in a life or physical science with related experience required
- Five or more years related laboratory experience in clinical diagnostic molecular assay development including Next Generation Sequencing, cancer genomics and/or comprehensive genomic profiling required
- Experience with CLIA/CAP validation and reimbursement submission including MolDx
- Solid understanding of laboratory techniques
- Ability to develop and deliver complex directions and scientific project plans
- Detail orientated with ability to capture and record complex scientific data accurately and reliably
- Excellent written and verbal presentation skills and the ability to use software tools to produce high impact presentations of data
Salary : $130,000 - $140,000
