This role involves executing protocols, troubleshooting analytical issues, and supporting senior laboratory personnel. The Scientist also contributes guidance to associate scientists and ensures compliance with regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret and communicate analytical results clearly and effectively to management and peers.
- Perform routine testing using instrumental analytical methods, including:
- HPLC
- GC
- FTIR
- UV
- ICP-MS
- Emphasize chromatographic method execution aligned with departmental objectives.
- Update SOPs, methods, and specifications through documentation systems to ensure USP compliance.
- Provide technical support for:
- Method validation
- Method verification
- Method transfers and evaluations
- Troubleshoot instrumentation and analytical methods using problem-solving skills and external resources (e.g., literature, vendors).
- Guide Associate Scientists as needed.
- Assist in training personnel on GMP, safety, antineoplastic handling, and onboarding processes.
- Maintain accurate and compliant documentation in accordance with Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
- Manage workload based on priorities, using sound judgment and objective decision-making.
- Perform peer reviews of data to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, or a related physical science (required)
- 1–4 years of relevant pharmaceutical or laboratory experience
- Experience with cGMP and FDA regulations preferred
- Hands-on experience with chromatographic methods and data systems (e.g., Empower)
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Proficiency in chromatography techniques
- Effective communication and documentation skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Office/Word/Excel-based tasks included
- Laboratory environment with changing priorities and project demands
- Some method development and advanced troubleshooting experience preferred
