Research Associate-Biology

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Research Associate to join the Sample Management team within the Discovery Sciences & Technologies (DST) department. This role is critical to enabling rapid and reliable access to molecules that accelerate the companies drug discovery efforts. The successful candidate will play a role in managing small molecule and biologics inventories and optimizing workflows. This position is based at our state-of-the-art Research facility in Foster City, CA.

Essential Functions

•Lead and execute sample management workflows including sample check-in, storage, retrieval, aliquoting, plate normalization, and shipping.

•Oversee biologics inventory including antibodies, proteins, bio-conjugates, libraries, plasmids, and cells.

•Operate and troubleshoot automation systems, liquid handlers, and analytical instrumentation.

•Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D teams, CROs, and external partners to support hit-to-lead and profiling efforts.

•Maintain high standards of data integrity and documentation using electronic lab notebooks and LIMS.

•Contribute to process improvements and protocol development to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Knowledge, Experience, and Skills

•BS or MS in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, or related discipline.

•4 years of relevant industry experience in sample management, sterile technique and compound logistics.

•Advanced proficiency with liquid handling systems (Echo, Bravo, Biomek, i7, etc.) and inventory management tools.

•Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

•Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

•Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused mindset.

•Experience with automation troubleshooting and workflow optimization is highly desirable.
