Location: Hicksville, NY
Contract Duration: 10 months
Pay Rate: $40/hr
Schedule: 8 hrs/day, 40 hrs/week, Mon-Fri (2-month flexibility for Tue-Sat), 2nd Shift 3:00 p.m. – 11:45 p.m.
Job Purpose:
Ensure safe and effective packaging of products while maintaining and improving equipment and operational efficiency. Support departmental goals by adhering to safety, quality, and cost guidelines.
Major Responsibilities:
- Execute preventive maintenance (PM) and work orders, documenting activities per FDA compliance.
- Support packaging operations, including setup, troubleshooting, repairs, and line clearance.
- Operate packaging machines and perform necessary checks per instructions.
- Document maintenance, adjustments, and repairs in appropriate logs.
- Assess equipment condition and recommend maintenance activities.
- Assist with engineering studies, validation, FAT, qualifications, and SOP input.
- Maintain compliance with SOPs, GDP, training, safety policies, and cGMPs.
- Collaborate with other lines and shifts to maintain operational efficiency.
- Coordinate with departments to optimize line efficiency.
- Adhere to all regulatory standards, including OSHA, DEA, FDA, EMEA, ANVISA, and HS&E.
- Handle hazardous waste if trained under OSHA HAZWOPER or RCRA standards.
- Maintain satisfactory visual acuity (20/20 corrected or uncorrected).

- Maintain uptime efficiencies through effective equipment setup and troubleshooting.
- Execute changeovers efficiently and support safety initiatives.
- Maintain neat, organized work habits and effective multitasking.

Qualifications:
- Education: Associate degree, technical school diploma, or equivalent experience.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years packaging equipment experience; documentation experience in food, drug, or cosmetics industry preferred.
- Understanding of current Good Manufacturing Practices (21 CFR §211).
