Schedule: Monday–Friday, 5 days/week
Pay Rate: $40–47/hr (depending on experience)
About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated Research Associate / Scientist 1 to join our Translational Pharmacokinetics and Pharmacodynamics (tPKPD) Department. This role bridges preclinical PKPD study support and data informatics, contributing to nonclinical study execution, database management, and the development of automated analytical workflows.
This is an office-based, computer-focused role with minimal lab work. The position is ideal for candidates with strong data management and coding skills who enjoy optimizing workflows, automating processes, and collaborating across teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the design, monitoring, and execution of preclinical PK studies with external CROs.
- Assist PK scientists in generating tables, listings, graphs (TLGs), and contributing to reports.
- Maintain and update departmental databases, ensuring accurate and timely data entry.
- Apply coding and data analysis techniques (R, Python, Spotfire) to automate workflows and simplify reporting.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to streamline operations and implement new data tools, including AI-assisted processes.
- Participate in department meetings and present study findings.
- Minor lab activities may include dose material preparation and sample handling, but no hands-on animal work is required.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- BS or MS in Biology, Pharmacology, Data Science, or related STEM field.
- Some understanding of PK/PD principles, drug development, and basic biology.
- 1–2 years preclinical R&D experience preferred (biotech/pharma settings a plus).
- Experience with data management, data analysis, or coding (R, Python, Spotfire preferred).
- Strong soft skills: attention to detail, organization, communication, and self-management.
- Ability to multitask and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with bioanalytical techniques (ELISA, FACS, LCMS) is a plus but not required.
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Experience with workflow automation, AI integration, or similar process optimization tools.
- Graphing experience using Prism or Spotfire.
