The successful candidate will work as a member of multidisciplinary teams, applying knowledge of in vivo pharmacology concepts to drive the company's discovery programs. This person should thrive in a fast-paced and highly collaborative environment.
Essential Functions
- As a member of the in vivo pharmacology team, provides regular delivery of high-quality data to progress projects
- Contributes to multi-disciplinary project teams in developing innovative, high-quality, small molecule therapeutics
- Approximately 75% of work is lab-based and focuses on development and execution of in vivo assays to identify pharmacologically active compounds of new drug candidates
- Responsible for planning experiments, data recording and analysis, preparation of reports and reporting data to project leads
- Ensure ethical use of animals in compliance with all regulatory requirements.
- B.S. with 5 years of relevant laboratory experience in biology, neuroscience, pharmacology or a related subject
- Proficient with mouse and rat in vivo techniques including administration of small molecule test articles by multiple routes of administration, blood sampling and tissue collection including collection of nervous system tissues
- Experience with small molecule formulation for preclinical research studies
- Experience with in vivo disease model within areas of neuroscience or a related field
- Experience with ex vivo tissue processing and analytical assays including ELISA, MSD, transcriptomics a plus
- With supervision, decides what study to conduct next based on data in hand.
- Excellent collaboration, communication and presentation skills.
- Both effective team player and strong individual contributor, flexible, and able to handle multiple tasks and deliver high-quality results under tight timelines
