PICU RN Travel Job Details
- Job Title: PICU Registered Nurse (RN) – Travel Nurse
- Location: Madison, WI 53792 (Wisconsin healthcare jobs)
- Facility: Pediatric medical and surgical center, Level One Pediatric Trauma Center, Level IV NICU
- Contract Type: Travel nursing assignment
- Start Date: November 17, 2025
- End Date: February 16, 2026
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $2290 - $2350
- Shift: Day/Evening, 12-hour shifts (7:00am – 7:30pm), Monday-Friday, every other weekend & some holidays
- Hours per Week: 36
- Unit: Pediatric ICU (PICU), includes CVPICU patients
- Patient Population: Neonates, Infants, Pediatrics, Adolescents
- Parking: Permit required; alternative transportation available
- Minimum 2 years of recent acute care experience in PICU or CVICU at a high-acuity hospital (within last 3 years)
- Strong pediatric intensive care and cardiac nursing experience required
- Epic EMR experience required (within past 12 months preferred)
- Basic arrhythmia and telemetry experience required; must pass telemetry test prior to start
- Active Wisconsin RN license or compact state nursing license (must be in hand at submission)
- BLS and PALS certifications (American Heart Association only)
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Permanent address must be at least 50 miles from Madison facility (travel nurse eligibility)
- Ability to float to NICU and general care units as needed
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
- Pass/fail telemetry exam required prior to start
- Deliver comprehensive, family-centered care to critically ill or injured pediatric patients in a 21-bed PICU
- Care for patients with acute head injuries, neurological disorders, pulmonary diseases, cardiac anomalies, organ transplantation, multi-system organ failure, and ECMO
- Perform advanced nursing procedures: arterial line management, central line care, ventilator management, CRRT, VAD, ECMO, and more
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams: IV, respiratory, physical therapy, pharmacy, radiology, social services, rapid response
- Float to NICU and general care units as needed based on staffing requirements
- Participate in weekend and holiday rotations as part of the travel RN assignment
- Maintain infection control and PPE standards in accordance with hospital policy
- Complete required orientation and maintain telemetry competency exams
