Travel Nurse Job Details
- Job Title: Travel Registered Nurse – Cardiovascular Thoracic ICU (CVICU)
- Location: Pinehurst, North Carolina 28374
- Assignment Type: Travel Nursing Contract
- Start Date: November 10, 2025
- End Date: February 9, 2026
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1980 - $2030
- Shift: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts per week (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
- Total Hours per Week: 36
- Unit: Cardiovascular Thoracic ICU (CVICU), 18 beds, adult patients
- Weekend Requirement: 16 weekend shifts per contract
- Orientation: 12 hours plus pre-start modules (average 18.47 hours for ICU nurses)
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina or compact state (pending license accepted)
- At least 1 year of recent cardiac critical care nursing experience in an ICU setting
- Experience caring for fresh open heart surgery patients required
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications (American Heart Association preferred)
- Proficiency with Epic electronic health record (EHR) system
- Must not reside in Moore County, NC
- Ability to float to other critical care units as needed
- Pre-employment drug screening required upon arrival
- Provide expert ICU care for post-cardiac and vascular surgery patients, including CABG, MVR, AVR, TVAR, AAA repair, and CEA procedures
- Monitor and manage complex cardiac conditions: pneumothorax, hemothorax, aortic stenosis, NSTEMI, STEMI, CHF, and A-Fib
- Perform advanced ICU nursing skills: arterial line management, central line care, ventilator management, titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, and post-cardiac surgery care
- Interpret arterial blood gases and dysrhythmias, manage multisystem organ dysfunction/failure, and administer blood products
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including physical therapy, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
- Float to other critical care units as needed to support hospital staffing needs
- Maintain infection prevention protocols and adhere to hospital isolation precautions
