Key Job Details – ICU RN Travel Assignment
- Location: San Antonio, TX 78229 – South Texas Medical Center
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: 12-hour shifts (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM or 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM), rotating weekends
- Hours per Week: 36
- Employment Type: Travel Nurse (Locum Tenens)
- Start Date: August 11, 2025
- End Date: November 10, 2025
- Unit: Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU)
- Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1460 - $1500
- Active Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license (no temporary licenses accepted)
- Minimum 2 years of recent ICU nursing experience
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications (American Heart Association preferred)
- NIH Stroke Scale certification required
- Proficient in hemodynamic monitoring (swans, arterial lines) and ventilator management
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
- Preferred: Experience with IABP, CRRT, and Meditech charting
- Ability to float to other critical care units as needed
- Provide high-quality, compassionate nursing care to critically ill patients in the CVICU
- Monitor and manage advanced cardiac devices (post-CABG, post-VAD, IABP, Impella, ECMO)
- Perform hemodynamic monitoring and manage ventilators for complex cardiac patients
- Document patient care accurately using Meditech electronic health records
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement patient care plans
- Adhere to hospital policies and procedures, including floating to other intensive care units as required
- Maintain professional appearance (navy scrubs required) and comply with all dress code policies
