Role Description The Estimator role at Planet Glass TN is a full-time, on-site position based in Columbia, TN. The Estimator will review project plans, specifications, and site conditions to develop accurate material and labor cost estimates for residential and commercial glass projects. Day-to-day responsibilities include analyzing customer requests, preparing detailed quotes and proposals, communicating with clients and internal teams, and coordinating with suppliers to obtain pricing and availability. The Estimator will also update and maintain estimating records, support project scheduling, and collaborate with installation teams to ensure estimates align with actual project requirements. This role involves regular interaction with customers and project stakeholders to clarify scope, manage changes, and support timely, cost-effective project delivery.
Qualifications
- Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills for reviewing plans, measurements, and project specifications.
- Experience with construction or glass industry estimating, including materials takeoffs and labor cost calculations.
- Proficiency with basic computer applications (e.g., spreadsheets, email, estimating or CRM software) and accurate data entry.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with customers, vendors, and internal teams in a professional manner.
- Attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple quotes and deadlines simultaneously.
- Knowledge of residential and commercial glass products, installation practices, or related trades is highly beneficial.
- Ability to work on-site in Columbia, TN, including occasional field visits for measurements and site assessments.
