Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Warehouse Associate to join our dynamic distribution center team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for efficiently managing inventory, operating heavy equipment, and supporting overall warehouse operations. This role requires a strong focus on safety, accuracy, and productivity to ensure seamless order fulfillment and shipping processes. Prior warehouse experience and familiarity with warehouse management systems are highly valued. The Warehouse Associate will play a vital role in maintaining an organized, safe, and efficient warehouse environment.
Responsibilities
- Manage inventory control through accurate stock counting and tracking using RF scanners and warehouse management systems (WMS)
- Operate heavy equipment including reach trucks, forklifts, cranes, pallet jacks, and order pickers to load, unload, and move materials safely
- Assist with order picking, packing, and shipping & receiving tasks to ensure timely order fulfillment
- Support stock replenishment and stocking activities within the warehouse
- Conduct materials handling tasks including loading/unloading shipments and organizing inventory storage areas
- Maintain compliance with OSHA safety standards and mechanical operation protocols
- Support warehouse distribution activities by coordinating with warehouse supervisors to optimize workflow
- Utilize AS400 or similar systems for inventory management and order processing
- Perform routine maintenance checks on heavy equipment and report any mechanical issues promptly
- Assist in packaging products securely for shipment while adhering to quality standards
Experience
- Previous warehouse experience is preferred, especially in distribution or manufacturing environments
- Familiarity with inventory management systems such as RF scanners or AS400 is advantageous
- Experience operating heavy equipment including reach trucks, forklifts, cranes, pallet jacks, and order pickers is highly desirable
- Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations related to warehouse operations
- Mechanical knowledge related to equipment maintenance and troubleshooting is a plus
- Proven ability to handle heavy lifting safely and efficiently during stocking, order picking, packing, and load/unload activities
- Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) or similar software such as Warehouse Management System (WMS) platforms or AS400 is beneficial
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in inventory control and order fulfillment processes
