Position Overview
The Purchasing & Procurement Specialist is responsible for managing the purchasing process for the organization, including creating, sending, and updating purchase orders, ship dates, and supplier communications. This role also supports the GWS team by coordinating project‑related services, ensuring account deliverables are met, and maintaining a strong focus on customer satisfaction. Success in this role requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication, and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
- Manage day‑to‑day procurement deliverables
- Serve as the primary point of contact for product suppliers within the interiors business lines
- Ensure project deadlines are met, communicated, and properly documented
- Potentially assist with quoting furniture projects using design plans, CAD drawings, specification books, or other industry-standard documents
- Complete and submit required design drawings per job or quote
- Coordinate services and confirm pricing with inventory partners
- Review supplier invoices for accuracy against quoted and actual work
- Maintain and update required fields in operating systems in accordance with client standards
- Communicate with internal clients and demonstrate a consistent sense of urgency
- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum of 2 years in customer service or related industry preferred
- Design degree or prior design experience preferred
- Experience purchasing large‑scale products, especially furniture, preferred
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage assignments with minimal supervision
- Strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Customer‑service focused with the ability to meet deadlines consistently
- Salary: $55,000 – $65,000 annually (commensurate with experience)
