The Director of Investment Management is a senior, internally focused investment leader responsible for turning approved investment ideas into coordinated, well-executed action across the firm.
This role owns the execution and follow-through of investment-related initiatives, including investment committee operations, cross-functional project leadership, and the translation of research and decisions into implementation.
The role works closely with the investment team and key internal partners to improve workflows, strengthen governance, and ensure the investment platform evolves in a disciplined, scalable way.
This position is not primarily client-facing. Its emphasis is on implementation, governance, project management, and internal coordination, with a heavy focus on clarity, accountability, and execution.

Position Overview:
Investment implementation
- Own the end-to-end implementation of approved investment changes across the platform
- Translate investment committee decisions into clear project plans, including defined owners, milestones, and timelines
- Coordinate execution of portfolio, model, investment vehicle, and workflow changes across relevant teams
- Ensure investment initiatives move from concept to completion with minimal drift or ambiguity
Investment committee operations
- Lead the operational and execution side of the investment committee process
- Coordinate agendas, supporting materials, decision memos, and post-meeting follow-up
- Ensure decisions are clearly documented and converted into concrete next steps
- Track accountability, timing, and completion of committee-driven action items
- Continuously improve cadence, structure, and effectiveness of committee operations
Project management & cross-functional coordination
- Lead complex, investment-related projects involving research, portfolio management, trading, operations, compliance, technology, advisor-facing teams, and leadership
- Build, maintain, and communicate project plans for strategic investment initiatives
- Identify bottlenecks, clarify ownership, and maintain momentum across teams
- Ensure projects are completed accurately, efficiently, and on time
Workflow & process improvement
- Improve handoffs between research, decision-making, implementation, and ongoing maintenance
- Strengthen governance, documentation, and repeatable processes across the investment function
- Help refine workflows related to model management, approved lists, portfolio changes, and implementation rules
- Support long-term scalability by building systems rather than relying on ad hoc coordination
Internal collaboration
- Partner closely with the CIO on priority alignment, sequencing, and execution
- Work with Operations and Wealth Management to ensure approved changes are implemented as intended
- Coordinate with portfolio administration and trading leadership on execution requirements
- Collaborate with operations, compliance, and technology on investment-related infrastructure and process changes

Required qualifications
- 8–12 years of professional experience in wealth management, investment management, portfolio management, institutional consulting, OCIO, or a closely related investment role
- 5 years of experience working directly with investment implementation, portfolio changes, or investment governance processes
- Technical experience using Orion Eclipse or another similar trading software
- Proven track record leading cross-functional initiatives involving investment, operations, and technology teams
Investment & technical knowledge
- Portfolio construction and model portfolios
- Investment vehicles (mutual funds, ETFs, SMAs, alternatives as applicable)
- Trading, rebalancing, and portfolio administration workflows
- Investment governance, documentation, and decision tracking
- Working knowledge of how investment decisions translate into operational execution across a platform
