Senior Electrical Engineer
Location: New York City, NY
Employment Type: Full-Time
Work Arrangement: Hybrid (3 days in-office / 2 days remote)
About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer with strong technical and project leadership experience to support and lead building design projects in New York City. This role is well-suited for an engineer who can take ownership of projects, coordinate across disciplines, and mentor junior staff, while maintaining hands-on involvement in design and construction support.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design of electrical systems for commercial, residential, institutional, and mixed-use buildings
- Develop power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and low-voltage systems from concept through construction
- Manage multiple projects concurrently, maintaining quality, schedule, and budget
- Coordinate closely with architectural, structural, and MEP teams to ensure fully integrated designs
- Prepare and review electrical drawings, specifications, and calculations
- Provide technical oversight and mentorship to junior engineers and designers
- Serve as a point of contact with clients, owners, and consultants
- Review shop drawings, submittals, RFIs, and change orders
- Perform site visits and provide construction administration support
- Ensure compliance with NEC, NYC Electrical Code, and other applicable regulations
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- 6–12 years of relevant electrical engineering experience (MEP consulting preferred)
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
- Strong knowledge of NYC building and electrical codes
- Proficiency in AutoCAD; Revit experience strongly preferred
- Demonstrated experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams
- Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced consulting environment
Preferred Experience
- Experience with high-rise residential, commercial, or complex building projects
- Familiarity with sustainable, energy-efficient, and resilient design strategies
- Experience with NYC permitting and agency coordination

Salary : $130,000 - $165,000
