A well-established consulting engineering firm with a strong reputation for excellence in sustainable building systems design is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our growing multidisciplinary team. This position is ideal for a technically skilled, detail-oriented professional who thrives on solving complex design challenges and leading innovative projects across diverse sectors such as commercial, institutional, cultural, residential, and infrastructure developments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, analysis, and integration of electrical systems for new construction and renovation projects, including power distribution, lighting, life safety, and renewable energy systems.
- Develop comprehensive design documentation, including drawings, schematics, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Coordinate with internal mechanical, plumbing, and sustainability teams, as well as external architects, clients, and contractors to ensure seamless project delivery.
- Review shop drawings, respond to RFIs, and participate in construction administration and commissioning activities.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers and designers, fostering professional growth and ensuring high-quality deliverables.
- Conduct site surveys and field inspections to assess existing conditions and verify installation compliance.
- Stay current with evolving technologies, codes, and best practices in energy efficiency and smart building systems.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Master’s degree preferred).
- 8–12 years of professional experience in building systems design within a consulting environment.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license, or eligibility to obtain one within six months of hire.
- Thorough understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC), NYC Electrical Code, and related industry standards.
- Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, SKM, or similar electrical analysis tools.
- Strong understanding of renewable energy systems, emergency power design, and sustainability initiatives such as LEED or WELL.
- Exceptional organizational, communication, and leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
