- Within 2 Years: You must successfully complete 9 CEUs in a State of Connecticut approved WWTF Course and pass the State of CT DEP Class I Certification Exam.
- Within 2 Years: You must obtain a valid Connecticut Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
- Operate & Maintain: Aid in the operation of treatment processes (Pre-Treatment, Primary, SBR, and Disinfection) and repair plant and pump station equipment.
- Collection Systems: Maintain the system using jetting machines and camera equipment.
- Facility Care: Handle essential upkeep, including snow removal, painting, and landscaping.
- Emergency Response: Train for and respond to confined space emergencies using self-contained breathing apparatuses.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED.
- Experience: At least one (1) year of related mechanical work (plumbing, heating, electrical, or machinist experience is highly preferred).
- Aptitude: A strong mechanical mindset and the ability to keep detailed repair records.
- Physical Ability: Must be able to lift up to 100 lbs (e.g., manhole covers), climb, crawl, and stand for long periods. Must pass a physical for confined space entry.
