Diesel Mechanic – Large Dairy Operation

Position Overview
We are seeking a reliable Diesel Mechanic & Shop Manager to oversee maintenance and repairs for a large-scale dairy operation in the Toronto, SD area. This position balances hands-on mechanical work with daily shop management. We are looking for an organized professional who can keep our fleet running efficiently and minimize equipment downtime.
Open to current students: If you are currently enrolled in a diesel or agricultural mechanics technical program (such as Lake Area Tech) and have completed at least half of your coursework, we can discuss a flexible schedule that works alongside your classes.
Key Responsibilities
- Equipment Maintenance: Perform daily preventative maintenance and routine servicing on tractors, skid steers, support trucks, and heavy dairy equipment.
- Diagnostics & Repair: Troubleshoot and fix mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues.
- Shop Management: Manage shop inventory, order parts, track maintenance schedules, and maintain a clean, safe work environment.
Qualifications
- Strong background in diesel mechanics or heavy equipment repair (or current enrollment in a relevant tech program).
- Ability to work independently and manage a shop environment efficiently.
- Ability to work a 5–6 day work week.
Pay: $25.39 - $30.58 per hour
