Position Summary
The General Superintendent is responsible for overall field operations across multiple construction projects or a large, complex project. This role provides leadership to superintendents and field staff, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and in alignment with quality standards and company objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee field operations for multiple projects or a major construction program
- Lead, mentor, and coordinate project superintendents and field teams
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety policies and OSHA regulations
- Develop and enforce project schedules in coordination with project management
- Monitor daily site activities to ensure productivity, quality, and adherence to plans
- Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and field logistics across projects
- Identify and resolve field issues, conflicts, and delays proactively
- Conduct regular site inspections and safety audits
- Collaborate with project managers on budgets, cost control, and resource allocation
- Participate in preconstruction planning, including constructability reviews and sequencing
