Medical Billing and Coding Specialist

We are looking for ​a Medical Billing/Coding Specialist to join our team! You will be responsible for the duties below.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for payment correspondence & EOBs along with taking the appropriate actions to get claims resolved.
• Follow up with insurance carriers regarding payment statuses and collections and appeals.
• Reviewing records and assign the appropriate ICD and CPT codes.
• Assist with audits as needed, coding records in a timely manner
• Maintains satisfactory coding performance in line with the company accuracy target and productivity requirements.
• Respond to coding concerns, assisting with denials.
• Abstracts data from medical records to ensure proper coding and charges capture.
• In charge of medical claim submission, invoicing, reporting, coding and compliance.
• Assisting in appealing denied claims, audit accounts to ensure that appropriate payments are paid by responsible parties.
• Process claims denials, unpaid claims or underpaid claims reviewing documentation.
• Research, appeal and resolve claim rejections, underpayments and denials
• Monitoring claims with proper diligence by generating appropriate reports along with contacting insurance companies to resolve claims that are not paid.

Requirements:

• Previous experience in billing, medical collections, coding or other related fields
• Experience with CPT coding and ICD-10.
• Ability to build rapport with insurance companies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
