Job Summary
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine building inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on a wide range of equipment to ensure maximum functionality at a manufacturing facility. This role diagnoses structural, mechanical, and electrical system issues, performs corrective repairs, and supports safe and efficient operations across the facility. The Maintenance Technician plays a key role in maintaining reliability of equipment, trailers, and powered industrial vehicles.
What You’ll Be Doing
As a Maintenance Technician, your responsibilities include:
Conducting routine preventive maintenance inspections on production equipment
Running diagnostic tests, identifying functionality issues, and recommending solutions to leadership
Performing maintenance and repairs on production equipment, including chains, conveyors, sprockets, and wood grinders, using grinding, welding, and cutting tools
Assembling, removing, repairing, and replacing equipment components
Completing all trailer repair activities at a 53-inch working height, including:
Repairing floors, doors, hinges, side walls, and roofs
Performing repairs using saws, grinders, welders, and other tools
Performing occasional roof repairs that require ladder climbing up to 12 feet
Performing tire repairs and exchanges using impact guns and other appropriate tools
Performing maintenance on powered industrial equipment (forklifts) and verifying successful repairs through operational checks
Cleaning equipment and maintenance areas using pressurized air/blowers, removing and reinstalling components as needed
Completing required documentation and storing records according to PLA standards
Maintaining a safe working environment and adhering to PLA, state, and federal regulations
Reporting repair needs for leased trucks and coordinating with leasing companies as required
Supporting the maintenance of a secure and organized spare parts and tools area
Communicating with leadership regarding equipment needs, repair updates, and best practice recommendations
Building strong and collaborative relationships with facility staff through consistent, clear communication
Adapting to changing work assignments, schedules, and reporting structures based on business needs

Associate’s Degree in Industrial Maintenance, Electrical, Mechanical, or related field preferred
4 years of experience in equipment maintenance, mechanical repair, or industrial maintenance
Certifications & Licenses
Welding Certification or License
Electrical Certification or License
Valid Driver’s License
Forklift Certification
Physical Requirements
Standing, walking, and working at elevated surfaces (53 inches)
Ability to lift, push, and pull materials and equipment as needed (usually 25–75 lbs depending on task)
Ability to climb ladders up to 12 feet
Frequent bending, twisting, reaching, and use of hand/power tools
Ability to work in an active warehouse/production environment
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will primarily work in a warehouse environment. This may include exposure to dust, fluctuating temperatures (hot and cold), and moderate to high noise levels. Steel-toed boots and other personal protective equipment (PPE) will be required.
