PKL Services Inc. will provide E-2D, MH-60R, MH-60S, and P-8A organizational level (“O” Level) maintenance in support of Test and Evaluation Squadron (VX-1). Work will primarily be performed at VX-1, Naval Air Station (NAS) Patuxent River, Patuxent River, MD. 20670.
About this role….
As an Aircraft Worker, you will make repairs to aircraft following orders of higher-grade worker in accordance with NAVAIR maintenance manuals, service bulletins, technical data, engineering data, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components.
In addition, the candidate must perform scheduled/unscheduled maintenance on aircraft airframe, power plants, corrosion control and painting, electrical and related fuel systems for T/M/S/ aircraft hired to maintain.
The candidate must possess a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and leadership qualities.
The candidate must have the ability to hold themselves and others to the highest standards of quality work and skills.
Other responsibilities include:
- Make repairs to aircraft following orders of higher-grade worker.
- The candidate will be required to train and obtain Plane Captain qualifications on all other Type Model Series aircraft such as MH-60R, MH-60S, P8-A, E-2D aircraft at the VX-1 organization.
- Assist in troubleshooting malfunctions in aircraft structure, landing gear, flight surfaces and controls, anti-icing, pneudraulic, engines, auxiliary power unit, and ventilation and heating systems.
- Remove, clean, reinstall, or replaces defective parts, accessories, and components such as worn gaskets, couplings, and fittings, bad actuators, accumulators, gauges, sections of corroded fuel and oil lines,
- May supervise the jacking and towing of aircraft, makes adjustments and settings such as cable tension and seat movement settings and adjustments.
- Obtain standard parts such as fuel and oil line connections and fittings, cable linkage, and spark plug cables and harnesses by referring to parts manuals and by making comparisons with samples,
- May perform pre-flight, thru-flight, and post-flight maintenance inspections,
- Enter in the maintenance records a description of the work performed.
- Service engines and aircraft components at line station making repairs, short of overhaul required to keep aircraft in safe operating condition.
- Any and all other duties as directed by Aircraft Site Manager.
About you
We’d love to hear from you if you have:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
- A minimum of four (4) years of extensive experience in “O” Level aviation maintenance.
- Previous experience with E2-D aircraft, such as being a Plane Captain is preferred.
- Previous experience as a qualified Plane Captain on MH-60R, MH-60S, P8-A, or E-2D aircraft.
- Must be able to attain and retain a US Government SECRET security clearance if billet requires it.
- At a minimum, all employees must maintain SECRET clearance eligibility during employment.
- Shall be able to obtain a Department of Defense (DoD) Common Access Card (CAC) card privileges to ensure access to flight line workspaces and critical information systems.
- Will possess knowledge of the learning process and how to transfer technical knowledge to less qualified personnel, including the ability to express thought in both oral and written communications.
- Shall perform requirements in a manner that meet or exceeds CNAFINST 4790.2 series, applicable Naval Aviation Maintenance Program Standard Operating Procedure (NAMPSOPs), Maintenance Requirement Cards (MRCs) and local NAMSOP instructions.
- Shall become familiar and develop a thorough understanding to document maintenance utilizing the Naval Aviation Logistics Command Information System (NALCOMIS) OOMA, automated maintenance documentation system within ninety (90) days of employment.
Must possess a valid state driver’s license if billet requires use of a government owned vehicle.
- Twenty-five percent TDY travel may be required on occasion.

- Paid jury duty for up to 40 hours.
- Will traverse into high noise workshop areas or near active jet aircraft operating ramps.
- Ability to sit for long periods of time.
- Ability to perform repetitive motion (keyboarding, 10-key).
- This position requires normal physical functions. Work may require frequent bending, reaching, and climbing.
- May frequently lift and carry items weighing up to fifty pounds and occasionally lift heavier items with the assistance of other workers.
- May be exposed at times to moderate discomforts such as heat, cold, rain, wind.
