Role Description The Physical Therapist is a full-time, on-site position located at PKL PHYSICAL THERAPY & WELLNESS, PC in Amityville, NY. In this role, the Physical Therapist evaluates patients, develops individualized treatment plans, and provides therapeutic interventions to address functional limitations, pain, and mobility issues. Daily responsibilities include conducting assessments, documenting clinical findings, monitoring patient progress, and adjusting treatment plans as needed. The Physical Therapist works closely with patients and families to educate them on exercises, injury prevention, and home care programs that support rehabilitation goals. Collaboration with other healthcare professionals is expected to ensure coordinated, high-quality patient care.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated knowledge of Medicine and Physical Therapy principles relevant to musculoskeletal, neurological, and orthopedic conditions.
- Experience in Rehabilitation, including designing and implementing individualized treatment plans to restore function and mobility.
- Strong Patient Care skills, with a focus on safety, empathy, and effective communication with diverse patient populations.
- Ability to develop and oversee Home Care programs that reinforce in-clinic therapy and support long-term recovery.
- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program; Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) or equivalent required.
- Current New York State Physical Therapist license (or eligibility to obtain) in good standing.
- Excellent written and electronic documentation skills, with attention to regulatory and billing requirements.
- Ability to lift, transfer, and assist patients safely and to work on-site in a clinical environment for the full workday.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage a caseload and work both independently and within a team.
- Prior outpatient or orthopedic physical therapy experience preferred, but new graduates with strong clinical skills are encouraged to apply.
