Our client, a respected CPA firm in Mount Kisco, NY is seeking a senior full-charge bookkeeper to own the day-to-day accounting for a portfolio of clients and the firm. This is a hands-on, client-facing role with end-to-end responsibility for the close, compliance, and reporting cycles. You will partner directly with partners, CPAs, and tax professionals, set quality standards, and improve processes across engagements.

Responsibilities:
- Lead full-cycle bookkeeping for multiple clients: A/P, A/R, billing, collections, payroll, fixed assets, accruals, prepaids, and reconciliations in accordance with GAAP.
- Own the monthly and quarterly close: prepare audit-ready workpapers, supporting schedules, and GAAP financial statements; present results and variance analysis to partners and clients.
- Reconcile all bank, credit card, and key balance-sheet accounts; investigate discrepancies and resolve issues promptly.
- Oversee billing, revenue recognition where applicable, and collections; produce A/R aging and cash-flow snapshots.
- Review and post vendor bills, client invoices, and cash receipts; ensure proper coding, approvals, and documentation.
- Manage payroll through ADP end-to-end; maintain payroll records and confidentiality; coordinate with HR as needed.
- Prepare and file sales/use tax, payroll tax, 1099s, and related regulatory filings; liaise with agencies on notices.
- Build, maintain, and optimize QuickBooks Desktop/Online files: chart of accounts, classes, budgets, and custom reporting.
- Implement and document internal controls and accounting policies; streamline workflows and automate routine tasks.
- Mentor and review work of junior staff or offshore resources; enforce deadlines and accuracy standards.
- Serve as a primary client contact, translating financial results into clear recommendations and next steps.
- 7 years of progressive bookkeeping/accounting experience with full-charge responsibility; CPA firm or multi-client environment strongly preferred.
- Expert QuickBooks Desktop/Online skills, including GL management, budgeting, custom reporting, and file cleanup.
- Advanced Excel (pivot tables, lookups, complex reconciliations).
- Demonstrated ownership of month-end close and preparation of audit-ready workpapers.
- Hands-on experience with ADP payroll and with sales/payroll tax filings.
- Strong working knowledge of small/mid-market GAAP and internal control best practices.
- Exceptional attention to detail, communication, and client-service skills; proactive problem solver who drives outcomes.
- Experience supporting financial statement audits is a plus; association management software familiarity is a plus.

Salary : $75,000 - $90,000
