Accounting Manager

Our client, a mission-driven senior services organization in Mount Vernon, NY, is seeking an experienced and motivated Accounting Manager to oversee daily accounting operations and lead a dedicated finance team. Responsibilities

• Lead all aspects of month- and year-end close, including GL, AP/AR, cash receipts, and payroll
• Maintain and reconcile books and ledgers for the organization and its affiliates
• Deliver accurate financial statements, management reports, and PBJ submissions
• Drive the annual budgeting and forecasting process; monitor performance, highlight variances, and recommend cost-containment or revenue-enhancement initiatives
• Prepare for and manage annual audits; ensure compliance with GAAP, GAAS, and evolving accounting regulations
• Establish and strengthen internal controls; oversee compliance filings
• Supervise, mentor, and develop a finance staff of six—setting goals, coaching, and evaluating performance
• Partner with HR to ensure payroll processes align with policies and collective bargaining agreements
• Participate in cross-functional meetings and committees to provide financial expertise and insight
  
  

Qualifications

• MBA in Accounting, Finance, or Business (required)
• 5 years of progressive accounting experience in nonprofit healthcare; skilled nursing facility experience preferred
• Prior team management/supervision required
• CPA preferred (but not required)
  
  

Additional Qualifications

• Advanced Excel and strong Microsoft Office/database reporting expertise
• Experience with ADP Workforce Now, ADP Reporting, Kronos, NetSmart, Beacon/Yardi, and Matrix
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to communicate financial insights clearly
• Exceptional organizational, time-management, and leadership abilities
• High integrity, discretion, and attention to detail
  
  

The compensation for this position ranges from $135,000.00 - $150,000.00. Actual compensation will be dependent upon the specific role, office location as well as the individual’s qualifications, experience, skills and certifications.
