Job Summary
PK Auto Sales is looking for a reliable Automotive Mechanic to join our growing team in Stafford, VA. We are a busy used car dealership and service shop that works on a wide range of makes and models. This position is ideal for someone who is hands-on, dependable, and comfortable performing diagnostics, maintenance, and general repairs.
You do not need to be a master technician, but you should have solid mechanical experience, take pride in your work, and be able to complete repairs correctly and efficiently. We are looking for someone who wants steady work, a team environment, and the opportunity to grow with our dealership and service department.
Duties
Perform vehicle inspections, diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on used vehicles and customer vehicles.
Complete routine services including oil changes, tire service, brake repairs, suspension work, shocks and struts, batteries, filters, and general maintenance.
Diagnose and repair common mechanical and electrical issues using scan tools, diagnostic equipment, and hands-on troubleshooting.
Inspect vehicles for safety, reliability, and needed repairs before sale or service completion.
Perform steering, suspension, brake, engine, and basic drivetrain repairs as needed.
Use hand tools, power tools, lifts, and shop equipment safely and efficiently.
Read repair information, service procedures, and technical instructions when needed.
Communicate clearly with the service manager or team about needed repairs, parts, and estimated repair time.
Help keep the shop clean, organized, and professional.
Work with the team to make sure vehicles are repaired properly and ready for customers in a timely manner.
Qualifications
Previous automotive mechanic experience required.
Experience working on multiple vehicle makes and models is preferred.
Used car dealership or independent shop experience is a plus.
Must be comfortable with general diagnostics, brakes, suspension, maintenance, and common vehicle repairs.
Ability to use scan tools, basic diagnostic equipment, hand tools, and power tools.
Strong mechanical knowledge and attention to detail.
Must be dependable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team.
Valid driver’s license preferred.
ASE certification or technical training is a plus, but not required.
Applicants may be subject to a background check and/or drug test. If selected for testing, the applicant must complete the required screening as part of the hiring process.
Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
