Fabric Cashier

PJ's Quilt and Longarm Studio is seeking a Fabric Cashier to provide friendly, accurate customer service and support smooth sales transactions onsite in North Fort Myers, FL.

The Fabric Cashier is responsible for processing payments accurately, assisting customers with fabric-related purchases, and helping maintain an organized, welcoming retail environment. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys customer interaction and takes pride in being dependable and detail-oriented.

As a part-time team member, you’ll help ensure every customer visit is efficient and positive while supporting day-to-day store operations in an onsite setting.

• Greet customers and provide prompt, courteous assistance at the point of sale.

• Process cash, card, and other accepted forms of payment accurately and in a timely manner.

• Maintain accurate pricing and product information during transactions, including resolving purchase discrepancies.

• Support inventory and merchandising needs by keeping the sales area organized and presentable.

• Assist with basic customer questions related to fabric selection and product availability.

• Ability to cut effectively and efficiently cut through multiple layers of fabric with rotary cutter.

• Calculate yardage of fabric and batting needed for Quilts that are brought to the shop for long-arm services.

• Ability to understand key measurements in a yard of fabric.

• Prior customer service or cashier experience preferred, with the ability to learn quickly if new to the role.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling payments and transaction records.

• Ability to work onsite in North Fort Myers, FL on a part-time schedule.

• Clear communication skills and a customer-focused attitude.

• Reliability and professionalism in supporting daily store needs.

• Ability to perform math functions based on taking measurements of quilt tops.

• Looking for an individual who can work 3 days a week, which includes Saturday's.

• Experience in a retail environment, particularly in home goods, textiles, or fabric-related departments.

• Familiarity with point-of-sale systems and basic retail operations.

• Comfort assisting customers with product inquiries and general purchase guidance.

• Experience balancing multiple tasks during busy periods.

• Quilting or sewing experience regarding how to read patterns and understanding directions.

Hourly rate: $15.00
