Automotive Sander - Myrtle Beach, SC
Department: Paint Line | Reports to: Production Manager / General Manager

At TEAM COLLINS, every car deserves a perfect finish—and as a Sander, you’re the artisan who lays the foundation for brilliance. Your sanding skills ensure every surface is smooth, prepped, and ready for flawless paint application.
Your Mission:
- Sand and prepare vehicle surfaces to meet company and industry standards.
- Remove old paint, surface rust, and debris using the right tools and techniques.
- Mask areas of the vehicle to protect surfaces while sanding.
- Operate DA sanders and other equipment safely and efficiently.
- Remove tags, racks, emblems, decals, and accessories with care.
- Minimize material use and dust transference through proper surface prep techniques.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Read and understand repair orders, completing work in the prescribed order and time frame.
- Move vehicles safely throughout the facility.
- Limit supply usage and perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- One year of automotive experience preferred.
- Must be 18 years or older with a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Strong attention to detail and a keen eye for color and color matching.
Physical Requirements:
- Frequently lift, carry, and manipulate up to 50 lbs.; occasionally lift up to 100 lbs. with assistance.
- Stooping, bending, kneeling, squatting, pushing, pulling, and repetitive motions required.
- Extended periods of standing, sitting, walking, kneeling, bending, and squatting.
Work Environment:
- Exposure to paint, fumes, dust, chemicals, toxins, varying temperatures, and intermittent noise.
- Use of PPE required.
