Job Summary
- Your main responsibility will be to make sure our guests have a happy experience while following the restaurant policies and procedures
- Opening and closing duties, including: storing all reusable goods, breaking down goods, cleaning all equipment and areas, returning equipment to proper locations, locking storage cabinets, restocking items, turning off lights, locking doors, and completing daily cleaning checklist. Set up, stock, and maintain work areas; Inspect the cleanliness and presentation of all glass, and silverware prior to use; maintain cleanliness of work areas throughout the day, practicing clean-as-you-go procedures (including restroom, server area).
- Prepares the table according to the restaurant policies
- Busses and cleans the tables promptly after the guests leave
- Make sure the condiments are refilled and perform all other preparation tasks.
- Knowing the menu options and quality of ingredients; Staying updated on current menu choices, specialties and menu deviations; knowing if the kitchen staff is running out of any items, etc.
- Handling the table-bookings and reservations
- Opening the door to the customers when they come and leave, greeting the customers, directing the customers to their tables, presenting menus, suggesting dishes, assisting in drink selection, informing customers about food preparation details, communicating specific customer needs to the cooks
- Greeting all guests warmly with an appropriate greeting
- Taking accurate orders and send them to the kitchen using the POS system
- Monitor their tables and ensure that all orders are delivered on time
- Ensuring the accuracy and quantity of every order
- Preparing mixed drinks by following precisely the recipes of the restaurant. Properly open and pour wine at the table-side.
- Report accidents and unsafe work conditions to manager
- Train new employees at the request of management
- Maintaining proper dining experience, delivering items in a timely manner, fulfilling customer needs, removing courses, replenishing utensils, refilling/changing glasses
- Stocking the orders delivered to the restaurant
- Upselling products from the menu like desserts and drinks
- Invite people to sign in to the restaurant reward club
- Obtaining revenues, issuing receipts, accepting payments, returning the change. Deliver guests’ bill and thank them for dining at the restaurant.
- Concludes dining experience by acknowledging choice of restaurant; inviting to return
- Accomplishing the shift lists and any other job duties as requested by Manager
- Filling in for absent staff as needed
- Assisting with special events as needed
- Must have some familiarity with basic cooking skills
- Working with other servers and being a team player
- Participating in keeping a friendly and fun working environment; Treating colleagues, suppliers and guest with respect
- Following the restaurant rules, policies and procedures
- Doing the inventory when needed
- Participate in all the meetings scheduled by the manager
- Protecting establishment and guests by adhering to sanitation, safety, and alcohol beverage control policies
- Staying updated with rules, policies and procedures by using our internal channel of communication
- Rolling silverware, stocking silverware and dinnerware, cleaning salad dressings and condiments containers
- Helping the kitchen by washing the silverware, dishes, glassware if the kitchen is too busy and the floor is running low on these items
- To hold the other employees accountable for any breaking of the rules and procedures & to let the management team know if the problem persists
- Reporting to the manager any problem that appears on the floor, kitchen or any other part of the restaurant
- Settle the POS system when closing
- This position post responds to the floor manager
Duties
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and assist with seating arrangements to ensure a smooth flow of service
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS, ensuring special requests are noted and communicated effectively
- Provide detailed menu descriptions, recommend popular dishes, and upsell items to enhance guest satisfaction and increase sales
- Serve food and drinks promptly while maintaining high standards of presentation and sanitation
- Handle cash transactions accurately through cash handling and cashiering procedures; process payments efficiently using POS systems like OpenTable or similar platforms
- Maintain cleanliness of tables, dining areas, and service stations; bus tables promptly to prepare for new guests
- Ensure food safety and sanitation standards are consistently followed in accordance with food handling regulations
- Assist with food preparation or kitchen support as needed during busy periods
- Foster positive guest relations by addressing inquiries, resolving concerns promptly, and ensuring overall guest satisfaction
- Support team members with tasks such as host/hostess duties or bussing to promote a seamless dining experience
Experience
- Previous experience in food service or restaurant environments is highly preferred, especially within fine dining or nightclub settings
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS, Micros POS, or OpenTable is advantageous
- Demonstrated ability in upselling, sales techniques, and delivering exceptional customer service
- Knowledge of food safety protocols, sanitation practices, and proper food handling procedures
- Experience working in high-volume establishments requiring strong time management skills
- Background in hospitality or guest services roles enhances your ability to connect with guests and create memorable experiences
- Basic math skills for cash handling, billing accuracy, and transaction processing are essential
