Job Summary

Duties

• Prepare fresh ingredients by washing, slicing, dicing, and assembling salads according to established recipes and menu standards
• Operate kitchen equipment such as knives, slicers, blenders, and food processors safely and efficiently
• Follow food handling procedures to ensure safety and hygiene in all food preparation activities
• Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and equipment to meet sanitation standards
• Assist with menu planning by preparing ingredients for upcoming meals or special catering events
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of prepared salads and meal components
• Adhere strictly to recipe guidelines and portion control to maintain consistency across all menu items

Requirements

• Prior experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is highly desirable
• Food service or restaurant experience demonstrating knowledge of food preparation and safety standards
• Strong knife skills with proficiency in slicing techniques and ingredient preparation
• Knowledge of food safety management practices and proper food handling procedures
• Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely while maintaining efficiency in a busy environment
• Excellent communication skills for effective coordination with kitchen staff and team members
• Culinary experience or training in the food industry is preferred but not mandatory; enthusiasm for learning is valued
