Duties
- Thoroughly wash and sanitize dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment following food safety sanitizing procedures.
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks as needed to support chefs and kitchen staff.
- Clear and buss tables promptly during service to maintain a clean dining environment.
- Follow proper manual handling techniques when lifting heavy pots, trays, or boxes to prevent injury.
- Operate dishwashing machines and other kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
- Maintain cleanliness of the dishwashing area and ensure sanitation standards are consistently met.
- Support overall kitchen sanitation by cleaning workstations, floors, and storage areas regularly in accordance with health and safety standards.
Skills
- Strong understanding of food safety management and sanitation procedures within a restaurant or hospitality setting.
- Experience with dishwashing techniques and operating commercial kitchen equipment.
- Knowledge of food handling practices and basic food preparation skills.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and handle manual tasks efficiently.
- Familiarity with kitchen health and safety standards to ensure a safe working environment.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in cleaning routines.
