Patient Care Coordinator (Full-Time)

Pixel was designed to give patients more control over their treatment plan and to help them navigate their fertility experience more easily, all while getting additional support from healthcare professionals, and peers going through similar treatments, and from up-to-date resources and guides.
The team at Pixel is seeking compassionate and detail-oriented Patient Care Coordinators to join our specialty pharmacy operations in Austin, TX or Cedar Knolls, NJ. This position works on-site Monday through Friday, and must have flexibility to work weekly rotational shifts (9 am to 5:30 pm and 11:30 am to 8 pm Eastern), as well as occasional Saturdays, as needed.
The successful candidate has experience working within a healthcare setting in a customer facing role, is eager to make a meaningful impact, and has a deep understanding of what it means to provide first-rate, compassionate customer service to patients.
Core Responsibilities:
- Handle inbound calls from patients, clinics, and physicians with professionalism and care.
- Make outbound calls to schedule patient orders and follow-ups.
- Confirm medication details with patients, including drug names, quantities, and storage requirements.
- Collect and document patient allergies, current medications, and existing medical conditions.
- Verify and update patient demographic information, including address, phone number, and email.
- Confirm insurance coverage and benefits related to prescribed medications.
- Provide clear counseling on medication delivery expectations and next steps.
- Facilitate scheduling onboarding appointments for patients as well as educating them on educational resources available; assist with scheduling as needed.
- Process refill requests received via phone, email, or text message.
- Accurately document all interactions in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
- Coordinate with pharmacists for clinical inquiries, order adjustments, or prescription transfers.
- Escalate reports of adverse reactions or clinical concerns to pharmacists promptly.
- Direct calls from clinics or physicians to a pharmacist.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience working in a customer-facing role within a healthcare setting; pharmacy or specialty pharmacy experience, preferred.
- Pharmacy Technician License strongly preferred, or willingness to obtain.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, coupled with a compassionate, patient-centered approach.
- Basic understanding of insurance process is a plus.
- Ability to work individually and collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential, protected patient information (PHI) with discretion.
- Proficiency in navigating multiple systems simultaneously, while using dual computer screens.
- Flexibility with scheduling e.g., ability to work weekdays, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
Pay: From $22.00 per hour
