About the Job
Pivotor AI is a conversational career discovery platform. Most systems built to match people to opportunity were designed to read credentials, not careers. That gap is most visible in healthcare, where two people can share the same title and be doing completely different work. We are building a system that reads the work behind the role and finds what is genuinely possible next.
This is an early team. The work you do here will be visible, consequential, and yours. Whatever your function, you will be shaping something genuinely new.
What You'll Do
- Build and maintain modern frontend applications using Next.js, React, and Tailwind CSS
- Develop responsive, high-performance user interfaces for career discovery and hiring workflows
- Integrate frontend systems with backend APIs and real-time data flows
- Implement authentication flows and protected user experiences
- Translate product and design ideas into clean, scalable UI components and systems
- Work on interactive and data-rich interfaces powered by AI-driven insights
- Collaborate closely with designers to iterate from wireframes to production UI
- Optimize applications for performance, accessibility, and cross-browser compatibility
- Use AI-assisted tools (MCP, Cursor, Claude) to accelerate UI development and prototyping
- Contribute to frontend architecture, state management, and component libraries
- Whiteboard. Iterate. Launch.

What You Bring
- 1 to 2 year of frontend engineering experience shipping production code (or exceptional new grads with strong portfolios)
- Strong experience with JavaScript/TypeScript and React (Next.js preferred)
- Experience building responsive, production-grade UIs
- Familiarity with Tailwind CSS or modern styling frameworks
- Experience integrating REST APIs and handling async data flows
- Understanding of state management and frontend architecture
- Exposure to AI-powered interfaces or LLM-based features is a plus
- Hands-on experience with MCP, Cursor, or Claude for AI-assisted development (mandatory)
- A GitHub or portfolio that demonstrates how you build user-facing systems

- Must accept terms of an unpaid internship with potential for conversion
