Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Sonographer to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations to assist in patient diagnosis and treatment planning. This role requires a strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology, with experience in various clinical settings including trauma centers, cath labs, and emergency medicine. The Sonographer will work closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality imaging services in a fast-paced environment committed to patient care excellence.
Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures across a range of specialties including interventional radiology, cardiology, and emergency medicine.
- Operate sonography equipment accurately to produce clear images for interpretation.
- Assist with interventional procedures such as cardiac catheterization and other minimally invasive techniques.
- Monitor vital signs and ensure patient safety during imaging procedures, maintaining aseptic technique at all times.
- Evaluate images for quality and completeness, ensuring diagnostic accuracy for physicians’ review.
- Maintain detailed documentation of procedures performed and patient information in compliance with hospital policies.
- Collaborate with medical staff to provide comprehensive diagnostic evaluation and support emergent cases in trauma or critical care settings.
- Stay current with advances in sonography technology and techniques through ongoing professional development.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Sonographer, preferably within a Level I Trauma Center or Level II Trauma Center environment.
- Hands-on experience with interventional radiology, cardiac catheterization, and cath lab procedures is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with telemetry, vital signs monitoring, and physiology knowledge is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of anatomy, medical terminology, and diagnostic evaluation processes.
- Experience working in emergency medicine settings or within a Level I Trauma Center is preferred.
- Certification in diagnostic medical sonography from an accredited program is required.
- Prior exposure to aseptic techniques and emergency response protocols will be considered an asset. Pay: $40.00 - $45.00 per hour
