We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Cardiac Cath Lab Technician to join our dynamic healthcare team. This vital role involves supporting interventional cardiology procedures within a fast-paced, high-acuity environment such as a Level I Trauma Center or Level II Trauma Center. The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of cardiovascular physiology, medical terminology, and aseptic techniques, ensuring the highest standards of patient care and safety during diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. Duties
- Assist cardiologists during cardiac catheterization, interventional radiology, and electrophysiology procedures
- Prepare and operate specialized equipment for diagnostic evaluation and interventional procedures in the cath lab
- Monitor vital signs and patient physiology throughout procedures, ensuring stability and safety
- Maintain strict aseptic technique to prevent infection during invasive procedures
- Record and interpret vital signs, ECGs, and other physiological data accurately
- Ensure proper documentation of procedures, findings, and patient responses in medical records
- Support the setup, sterilization, and maintenance of procedural tools and supplies
- Provide patient education regarding procedures, post-procedure care, and recovery expectations
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in emergency medicine settings or trauma centers to deliver prompt care during critical situations
- Demonstrate proficiency in anatomy knowledge, sonography, and diagnostic evaluation techniques relevant to cardiac interventions
Qualifications
- Certification as a Cardiovascular Technologist or equivalent credential with specialized training in cardiac catheterization
- Experience working in interventional cardiology or electrophysiology labs preferred; experience in Level I Trauma Centers or Level II Trauma Centers is advantageous
- Strong understanding of interventional radiology, telemetry monitoring, and physiology principles
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy related to cardiovascular system, and aseptic techniques required
- Familiarity with sonography and diagnostic evaluation tools used within the cath lab environment
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in emergency medicine scenarios or trauma settings
- Excellent communication skills for patient interaction and interdisciplinary collaboration
- Proven ability to maintain high standards of safety, accuracy, and professionalism during invasive procedures
